Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of single-line gingival removal combined with Expasyl in the treatment of caries in the subgingival root surface of the elderly. Methods A total of 258 elderly patients with anterior subgingival root caries diagnosed were selected and divided into three groups according to different schemes.Group I(81 cases,132 tablets, using the single-line gingival plan),Group II(87 cases,143 tablets, using the Expasyl program),Group III(90 cases,146 tablets, using the single-linegingival joint Expasyl).Compare the three groups of gingival time, gingival pain degree, whether gingival bleeding, gingival excellent rate and improved USPHS standards and so on.Results After treatment, the gingival drainage time and gingival pain in group II were significantly shorter/lower than those in groups I and III,and the bleeding rate was significantly lower than that in groups I and III,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of gingival removal in group III was 97.26%,which was significantly higher than that in group I,84.84% and group II,86.71%.The complex restoration of group III,edge coloring, pulp reaction, edge suitability, gingival reaction, etc.were significantly better than those of groups I and II(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the new defects and secondary cariesamong the three groups(P> 0.05).Conclusion The three gingival removal methods can achieve good gingival removal effect in the treatment of anterior subgingival root caries in the elderly. The Expasyl regimen has low pain and less bleeding, and it is suitable for elderly people who cannot cooperate for a long time. The single-line gingival removal combined gingival ointment scheme has a low rate of restoration loss, little gum and pulp reaction, and the best clinical effect.
