Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of serum levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),ghrelin, and myeloperoxidase(MPO)for postoperative depressive episodes in patients with coronary heart disease undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods A total of 200 patients with coronary heart disease who underwent PCI in our hospital from July 2020 to September 2022 were prospectively enrolled.Based on the occurrence of depressive episodes within three months after surgery, patients were divided into a depression group(n=117)and a non-depression group(n=83).Relevant clinical data were collected.Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to assess the correlations between BDNF,ghrelin, and MPO levels and postoperative depressive episodes.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were used to evaluate the individual and combined predictive values of BDNF,ghrelin, and MPO for depressive episodes. Results Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that BDNF(OR=0.486,95%CI=0.377-0.701,P<0.001),ghrelin(OR=0.529,95%CI=0.324-0.863,P=0.011),and MPO(OR=1.235,95%CI=1.033-1.352,P<0.001)were independent risk factors for depressive episodes.ROC curve analysis showed that the areas under the curve for BDNF,ghrelin, and MPO alone in predicting depressive episodes were 0.729(95%CI=0.661-0.798),0.729(95%CI=0.659-0.800),and 0.775(95%CI=0.708-0.842),respectively,while the area under the curve for the combined prediction was 0.879(95%CI=0.829-0.928). Conclusion Serum BDNF,Ghrelin and MPO are closely related to postoperative depressive episodes in patients with coronary heart disease before PCI,and single or combined detection has a good predictive effect, which can provide a basis for clinical prevention of depressive episodes.
