Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of non-invasive ventilator combined with low-flow oxygen inhalation on arterial blood gas in elderly patients with acute outbreak of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with COPD were selected and divided into two groups according to random envelope method, the control group(n=40 cases, low flow oxygen therapy)and the observation group(n=40 cases, low flow oxygen therapy + non-invasive ventilator ventilation therapy). The pulmonary function indexes, arterial blood gas indexes and hospitalization indexes of COPD patients before and 14 days after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After 14 days of treatment, the FEV1,VC and PEF50 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 14 days of treatment, the arterial blood pH of the observation group was no different from that of the control group(P>0.05),PaO2 was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and PaCO2 was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The total days of hospitalization and ICU stay in the observation group were less than those in the control group(P<0.05),and there was no difference in the intubation rate between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05). Conclusions Low-flow oxygen therapy combined with non-invasive ventilator ventilation in the treatment of elderly COPD patients can improve lung function, arterial blood gas,and reduce hospitalization days, and it is worthy of clinical promotion.
