Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of polyetheretherketone(PEEK)material for removable partial denture(RPD)in patients with oral restoration. Methods 88 patients with oral cavity repair were randomly divided into two groups,44 cases in each group. The control group was treated with cobalt chromium alloy to make RPD,and the study group was treated with peek to make RPD.Periodontal indexes[plaque index(PLI),mobility(TM),periodontal probing depth(PD),sulcus bleeding index(BI)],satisfaction score, denture strength and bracket weight were compared between the two groups. ResultsBefore repair, there was no significant difference in PLI,TM,PD,Bi levels between the two groups(P>0.05);Compared with the control group, the PLI level in the study group was lower after 6 months of repair, with statistical difference(P<0.05),and there was no statistical difference in the levels of TM,PD and Bi between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the denture retention and stability, masticatory function, language, aesthetics, denture comfort, total score and other satisfaction scores of the study group were higher, with statistical difference(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the denture strength score of the study group was lower, and the weight of the bracket was lighter, with statistical difference(P<0.05). Conclusion PEEK material in the treatment of RPD patients has achieved good repair effect, periodontal indicators have been effectively improved, patients' satisfaction with repair is high, and the strength of the repaired denture is strong, the weight of the bracket is light, which has a good prospect in clinical application.
