| The Effect of Single Port Laparoscopic Appendectomy in the Treatment of Acute Complex Appendicitis in Children |

Abstract Objective To investigate the efficacy of single port laparoscopic appendectomy(SILA)in the treatment of acute complex appendicitis(ACA)in children. Method 100 children with ACA who received treatment were selected and divided into two groups based on different surgical methods:the traditional laparoscopic appendectomy group(LA group,49 cases)and the umbilical single port laparoscopic appendectomy group(SILA group,51 cases). Results And analyze and compare the surgical related indicators,pain levels,inflammatory factor levels,and incidence of complications between the two groups.There was no significant difference in surgical time,intraoperative blood loss,and defecation time between the two groups(P>0.05),and the hospital stay in the SILA group was shorter than that in the LA group(P<0.05).On postoperative day 1 and 2,the pain scores in the SILA group were lower than those in the LA group(P<0.05).On postoperative day 1 and 2,the levels of serum CRP,PCT,and WBC in both groups showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.During this period,there was no significant difference in the levels of CRP,PCT,and WBC between the two groups on postoperative day 1(P>0.05),while on postoperative day 3,the SILA group was lower than the LA group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Compared with LA,SILA can significantly shorten hospitalization time,reduce postoperative inflammatory response,and effectively alleviate postoperative pain in the treatment of ACA children,with higher safety and faster postoperative recovery.
