Relationship Between Serum S100 - β Protein Level and Prognosis in Patients With Severe Craniocerebral Injury |

Abstract Objective To investigate the relationship between the changes of serum central nerve specific protein(S100 - β)and prognosis in patients with severe craniocerebral injury.Methods The clinical data of 82 patients with severe craniocerebral injury were retrospectively analyzed.According to Glasgow Outcome Score(GOS),there were 3 cases of grade I,6 cases of grade II,7 cases of grade III,42 cases of grade IV and 24 cases of grade v.66 patients(80.49%)with grade IV and V were included in the good prognosis group,and 16 patients(19.51%)with grade I,II and III were included in the poor prognosis group.S100 - β levels were compared between the two groups,and the relationship between S100 - β and prognosis was analyzed.result The level of S100 - β in patients with good prognosis was lower than that in patients with poor prognosis,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);logistic regression analysis showed that the overexpression of serum S100 - β protein might be associated with poor prognosis in patients with severe craniocerebral injury(or>1,P<0.05);receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)was drawn,Results Showed that the level of serum S100 - β protein predicted the poor prognosis The AUC was 0.812.Conclusion The level of serum S100 - β protein is closely related to the prognosis of patients with severe craniocerebral injury.The level of S100 - β has a high predictive value for poor prognosis.The level of serum S100 - β protein can be detected before treatment,and corresponding intervention can be taken for those with high expression of S100 - β to improve the prognosis of patients.
