| Clinical Observation of LARS Artificial Ligament Enhanced Repair of Acute Closed Achilles Tendon Rupture |

Abstract Objective To study the clinical effect of acute closed Achilles tendon rupture repaired by the Reinforcement of Ligament Advanced Reinforcement System（LARS）. Methods 14 patients with acute closed Achilles tendon rupture underwent LARS artificial ligament enhancement repair.There were 13 males and 1 female.The patients were 29-67 years old（mean 42.79 years old）,with 6 cases on the left and 8 cases on the right. Results All 14 patients were followed up for 6 months.After surgery,13 patients had primary wound healing and 1 patient had secondary wound healing.No Achilles tendon rupture occurred at the last follow-up,and the subcutaneous slide of Achilles tendon was good.The American Foot and Ankle Surgery Association（AOFAS）ankle and hind foot function scores were used to evaluate the good and excellent rate of 100% at 1 month after surgery（68.1±2.1）,2 months after surgery（86.4±7.1）and 3 months after surgery（91.6±1.1）. Conclusion LARS artificial ligament enhancement repair acute closed Achilles tendon rupture is safe and effective,patients can carry weight early,accelerate recovery and return to exercise.
