Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of doxycycline on the improvement of infection index in patients with pulmonary infection and fever. Methods A total of 70 patients were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,35 patients in each group. Both groups were given general supportive treatment. The control group was treated with azithromycin and the experimental group was treated with doxycycline. The clinical treatment efficiency, the disappearance time of fever symptoms, the level of pulmonary infection indexes and the occurrence of adverse reactions during medication were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of experimental group was 94.29%,which was significantly higher than that of control group(85.71%).The duration of fever and the time when the body temperature dropped to normal after medication were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).WBC count,CRP,procalcitonin and interleukin-6 indexes were significantly improved after doxycycline treatment compared with control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of doxycycline in patients with pulmonary infection with fever can not only rapidly and effectively reduce fever, improve the symptoms of infection, but also significantly reduce the level of infection indicators in blood, with definite efficacy and high safety, which is worthy of extensive clinical promotion.
