Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of gestational age on enteral feeding status of ultra-low birth weight infants. Methods 60 cases of ultra-low birth weight infants were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into group A and group B according to gestational age(≥28 weeks,<28 weeks)by using internal control. The amount of milk started and the amount of milk at different times were recorded, and the incidence of feeding intolerance, hospitalization time and discharge weight were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistical difference in the incidence of feeding intolerance between the two groups in terms of the amount of milk started, the amount of milk at 5d postpartum, and the amount of milk at the time of discharge from the hospital within 1 week postpartum(P>0.05).The amount of milk was higher in group A at 15d and 21d postpartum, and the amount of feeding intolerance was lower in the period of 1-2 weeks postpartum. The length of hospitalization of the children was shorter, and the children had a higher body weight at the time of discharge from the hospital. The localized tissue oxygenation in the abdomen in the first four weeks of postnatal life(A-rSO2)levels were higher(P<0.05). Conclusion Gestational age has a great influence on ultra-low birth weight infants, and the younger the gestational age,the more likely the infants to develop enteral feeding intolerance,so the clinic can adjust the feeding pattern according to the gestational age.
