Abstract:Objective To observe the expression of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and homocysteine(Hcy)in gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)and analyze the relationship between the two and macrosomia. Methods 110 GDM patients who underwent regular prenatal examination and completed delivery were selected as the research objects. The birth weight of newborns was measured as the judgment standard of macrosomia and divided into two groups. They were divided into occurrence group and non occurrence group. The levels of serum VEGF and Hcy were measured one week before delivery. The baseline data of the two groups were investigated and recorded, and the serum VEGF and Hcy were analyzed Relationship between Hcy expression and macrosomia in patients with GDM.Results Among all 110 patients,23 had macrosomia, accounting for 20.91%;The levels of serum VEGF and Hcy in the occurrence group were significantly higher than those in the non occurrence group one week before delivery(P<0.05);Logistic regression analysis showed that the overexpression of serum VEGF and Hcy was related to the occurrence of macrosomia in patients with GDM(or > 1,P<0.05).Conclusion The overexpression of serum VEGF and Hcy is related to the occurrence of macrosomia in patients with GDM.
