Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP)in emergency patients with severe mechanical ventilation(MV). Methods a total of 86 patients admitted to the emergency intensive care unit were selected by convenience sampling. The patient data were collected and analyzed to analyze the risk factors of VAP in emergency severe MV patients. Results The incidence of VAP in emergency severe MV patients was 26.74%(23/86).Multivariate analysis shows that: Tracheotomy(β=2.636,OR=13.953,95%CI=4.126-47.184),age ≥60 years(β=2.197,OR=9.000,95%CI=2.903-27.905),MV time ≥7d(β=2.294,OR=9.917,95%CI=3.288-29.913),hormone use(β=2.618,OR=13.714,95%CI=4.411-42.641),length of stay in ICU≥7d(β=2.628,OR=13.846,95%CI=4.325-44.329)and gastric tube duration ≥2d(β=2.324,OR=10.212,95%CI=3.071-33.963)were the risk factors for VAP in emergency patients with severe MV(P<0.05). Conclusion The occurrence of VAP in emergency patients with severe MV is related to tracheotomy, age,MV time, use of hormones, time of ICU admission and time of gastric tube indplacement.
