AbstractObjective To analyze the effect of nasal endoscopy-assisted low-temperature plasma ablation of adenoids in children with adenoid hypertrophy. Methods A total of 73 children with adenoid hypertrophy were selected and divided into observation group(n=37)and control group(n=36)according to different surgical procedures. The control group underwent nasal endoscopy. For auxiliary adenoidectomy, the observation group underwent nasal endoscopic-assisted adenoidectomy with low-temperature plasma ablation. The total effective rate,operation-related conditions, postoperative pain degree, postoperative complications, and nasal cavity volume were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.30%(36/37)and 91.67%(33/36)of the control group had no significant difference(P>0.05);the blood loss in the observation group was less than that of the control group, and the operation time, pain time, and normal Ventilation time was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05);the observation NRS scores at 1d,3d,and 5d after surgery were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05);the postoperative complication rate of the observation group was 5.41%(2/37)Compared with 8.33%(3/36)of the control group, there was no significant difference(P>0.05);the nasal cavity volume of the two groups was larger than that of the preoperative 6 months after the operation, and the observation group was larger than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Nasal endoscopy-assisted low-temperature plasma ablation of adenoids is effective in treating children with adenoid hypertrophy, which can shorten the rehabilitation process, relieve postoperative pain, improve nasal resistance, and is safe and reliable.
