Research on the Diagnostic Value of Combined Serum Markers NT-proCNP,Interleukin-8 and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α in Sepsis-Associated Encephalopathy |

Abstract Objective To study the combined diagnostic value of N-terminal pro-C-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proCNP),interleukin-8(IL-8)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in sepsis-associated encephalopathy(SAE). Methods A total of 80 patients with sepsis and septic shock were prospectively selected as the research objects.Taking the results of imaging-assisted examinations such as MRI and EEG as the clinical results of whether the patients had SAE,the patients were divided into the SAE group and the non-SAE group.The levels of NT-proCNP,IL-8 and TNF-α in the patients were detected,and the values of individual diagnosis and combined diagnosis were analyzed. Results The area under the curve(AUC)of NT-proCNP in diagnosing SAE was 0.844,the specificity was 0.846,and the sensitivity was 0.722;the AUC of IL-8 in diagnosing SAE was 0.869,the specificity was 0.962,and the sensitivity was 0.685;the AUC of TNF-α in diagnosing SAE was 0.886,the specificity was 0.885,and the sensitivity was 0.796;the AUC of the three combined in diagnosing SAE was 0.991,the specificity was 0.962,and the sensitivity was 0.981;the Delong test results showed that the efficiency of combined diagnosis of SAE was higher than that of individual diagnosis of SAE by NT-proCNP,IL-8 and TNF-α levels(Z=3.221,3.241,3.144,all P<0.05). Conclusion The levels of NT-proCNP,IL-8 and TNF-α can be used as potential biological indicators for diagnosing SAE.The combined diagnosis of the three has excellent diagnostic efficiency,can help clinically and accurately diagnose whether patients have SAE,provide help for clinical treatment decisions,and can be popularized in clinical practice.
