The Application Value of Circulating Procalcitonin and N/L in the Early Diagnosis of Infantile Pneumonia |

Abstract Objective To investigate the value of Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(N/L)in the early diagnosis of pediatric pneumonia.Methods 112 children with pneumonia admitted to our hospital from August 2018 to August 2019 were selected as research objects.PCT was detected by roche CobasE411 electrochemical luminescence method,and the neutrophil count(N)and lymphocyte count(L)were detected by automatic hematometer.Then the NLR was calculated according to the following formula:NLR=N/L.PCT and NLR levels were compared between the control group and the children group(low,medium and high risk groups).The levels of relevant indicators in the survival group and the death group;Specificity and sensitivity of PCT combined with NLR in diagnosis of pediatric pneumonia.Results (1)PCT and NLR levels in each PSI group(low risk group,medium risk group and high risk group)were significantly higher than those in the control group,and with the increase of PSI score,PCT and NLR levels also increased significantly,and the differences were statistically significant(F values were 6.562 and 15.592,P values were 0.028 and 0.000,respectively).(2)serum PCT and NLR levels in the death group were significantly higher than those in the survival group(all P<0.05).(3)the ROC curves of two indicators of pct-based NLR were analyzed,and the Resultsshowed that:the area differences below the curves of the two indicators were statistically significant(all P<0.01).When the PCT was 0.86ng/mL,the sensitivity was 92.0% and the specificity was 81.2%.The sensitivity and specificity of NLR at 11.28 were 71.9% and 77.8% respectively.Conclusion PCT and NLR have high clinical value in evaluating the condition and prognosis of infantile pneumonia.
