Effects of Intravitreal Injection of Ranibizumab Combined With Complex Trabeculectomy on Intraocular Pressure Control in Patients With Advanced Neovascular Glaucoma

Abstract:Objective To analyze the effects of intravitreal injection of ranibizumab combined with complex trabeculectomy on intraocular pressure in patients with advanced neovascular glaucoma.Methods The clinical data of 67 patients with neovascular glaucoma in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed,and the patients were divided into observation group and control group.The changes of intraocular pressure,iris neovascularization and recurrence were observed before and after treatment,and the occurrence of complications were compared.Results There was no statistically significant difference in the intraocular pressure with(13.26 ± 2.13) mmHg in observation group compared with(14.22 ± 3.01) mmHg in control group at 1 week after treatment(P>0.05).The intraocular pressure values in observation group at 1 month,3 months and 6 months of review were(14.56 ± 3.82) mmHg,(15.26 ± 3.13) mmHg and(16.11 ± 3.45) mmHg,which were lower than those in control group with(19.01 ± 3.21) mmHg,(23.55 ± 5.24) mmHg and(27.21 ± 4.28) mmHg(P<0.05).The recession rate of iris neovascularization in observation group within 1 month was better than that in control group,and the recurrence rate within 6 months was lower than that in control group(5.00% vs 26.67%)(P<0.05).The occurrence of complications were basically the same in both groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Intravitreal injection of ranibizumab combined with complex trabeculectomy is effective among patients with neovascular glaucoma,and it can safely and effectively reduce intraocular pressure.
