Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of glipizide combined with metformin hydrochloride in the treatment of elderly diabetes. Methods Select 89 elderly diabetic patients from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected and divided into control group(n=49)and combination group(n=40)according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with glipizide, while the combination group was treated with metformin hydrochloride on the basis of the control group. The changes of blood glucose index, treatment effect and adverse reaction rate before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the FPG,2hFPG,HbA1c and FINS of the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and the above indicators of the combination group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05);The total effective rate of the combined group was 92.5%,which was significantly higher than the 75.51% of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Glipizide combined with metformin hydrochloride in the treatment of elderly diabetic patients can effectively improve the blood glucose level, blood glucose control and therapeutic effects are better than glipizide alone.
