Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of paroxetine combined with Mirtazapine on cognitive function and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)score in patients with poststroke depression(PSD). Methods This was a prospective study.113 patients with poststroke depression were enrolled in this study. They were divided into observation group(n=57 cases)and control group(n=56 cases)by random number table. The control group received paroxetine treatment, and the observation group received paroxetine combined with mirtazapine treatment.Cognitive function [as assessed by Wisconsin card Sorting Test(WCST)],HAMD score and adverse effects were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment,WCST scores of both groups were improved, and scores of observation group were better than control group(P<0.05).After treatment,HAMD scores in both groups were decreased, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The adverse reactions of the two groups were compared(P>0.05). Conclusion Paroxetine combined with mirtazapine can effectively improve cognitive function and depression in patients with PSD.
