Abstract:Objective To study clinical effect and value of etidronate disodium(ED) in treatment of elderly osteoporosis patients. Methods A total of 160 elderly osteoporosis patients who were admitted were randomly grouped according to different clinical treatment schemes,80 cases in each group. The patients treated with D-calfor were included in control group, while patients treated with ED and D-calfor were included in experimental group.BMD scores and clinical response rates in both groups were observed and validated. Results The data statistics showed that clinical response rates in experimental group was significantly higher than that in control group(96.25% vs 86.25%)(P<0.05).After treatment, there were significant differences in BMD score between experimental group and control group[(0.48±0.03) points vs(0.46±0.02) points](P<0.05).After treatment, there were significant differences in BMD score in experimental group before and after treatment [(0.46±0.08) vs(0.48±0.03) points](P<0.05).Conclusion The curative effect of ED is significant on elderly osteoporosis patients.
