Curative Effect of Compound Glycyrrhizin Injection in Adjuvant Treatment of Children With Henoch-Schonlein Purpura Nephritis and the Influence on Cytokines

Abstract：Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of compound glycyrrhizin injection in adjuvant treatment of children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis(HSPN) and the influence on cytokines.Methods A total of 60 children with HSPN were randomized into two groupA and group B,30 cases in each group.Group A was given conventional treatment,and group B was treated with compound glycyrrhizin injection on the basis of conventional treatment.After 4 weeks of treatment,clinical effects were observed.Changes in urine protein quantification,urine erythrocyte,serum creatinine,urine microalbumin (MAlb) and cytokines [interleukin-4 (IL-4),γ-interferon (IFN-γ)] were compared between groups.Results After 4 weeks of treatment,the total response rate of group B (90.00%) was significantly higher than that of group A(66.67%)(P<0.05).After treatment,urinary protein quantification,urine erythrocyteand serum creatinine of both groups were significantly decreased,and urine microalbumin (MAlb) significantly increased (P<0.05).Besides,the above indexes in group B were better than group A(P<0.05).IL-4 levels in both groups significantly decreased,andIFN-γ levels significantly increased (P<0.05),which were better in group B than group A(P<0.05).Conclusion Compound glycyrrhizin injection is effective in adjuvant treatment of children with HSPN,which can enhance renal function and regulate cytokine levels.
