Abstract:Objective To study the application effect of CT calcification distribution characteristics in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant solitary spherical pulmonary lesions. Methods The study retrospectively reviewed 66 patients with solitary spherical pulmonary lesions treated in the hospital, and they were divided into benign group and malignant group according to the nature of the lesions. All subjects received CT examination, and images as well as calcification distribution characteristics of the two groups were observed and compared. Results The incidences of lamellar calcification and central calcification were significantly higher in the benign group than in the malignant group(P<0.05),while the incidences of punctiform calcification, diffuse calcification and marginal calcification were significantly lower in the benign group than in the malignant group(P<0.05).The calcification area, calcification area ratio, total calcification area, total calcification area ratio, calcification density area and calcification density area ratio were significantly higher in the begin group than in the malignant group(P<0.05). Conclusion CT calcification distribution characteristics can be used to effectively distinguish benign and malignant solitary spherical pulmonary lesions, and the images have high resolution.
