Abstract  Objective To explore the dermatoscopic features of male hormonal alopecia and analyze its clinical value in evaluating the efficacy. Methods a total of 60 male patients with hormonal alopecia were admitted to the Department of Dermatology, and 50 physical examiners without hormonal alopecia were selected as the healthy control group; All subjects received dermatoscopic examination to explore the difference between the dermatoscopic characteristics of patients with elastohormonal alopecia(whether there are thin hair diameter, increased vellus hair, brown peritrichal sign, local hairless sign, pigmentation and yellow spot sign)and the healthy control group;Subsequently, all patients with hormonal alopecia received treatment.According to the treatment effect, the subjects were divided into good prognosis group and poor prognosis group. The difference of dermatoscopic characteristics between the two groups after treatment was compared, and the evaluation value of the above characteristics on the efficacy of patients with hormonal alopecia was evaluated. Results The proportion of patients with hormone induced alopecia with thinner hair diameter(>20%),increased vellus hair, brown hair peritrichal sign, local non hair sign, pigmentation and yellow dot sign was higher than that of healthy control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The proportion of patients with hormonal alopecia with thinner hair diameter(>20%),brown peritrichal sign and local hairless sign decreased significantly compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);The number of cases with increased vellus hair was significantly increased compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);However,there was no significant difference in the proportion of cases of pigmentation and yellow dot sign before and after treatment(P>0.05);Finally,42 patients were included in the good effect group and 18 patients were included in the poor effect group; The results showed that the proportion of cases with hair diameter thinning(>20%),vellus hair increase, brown hair peritrichosis sign, local hairless sign, pigmentation and yellow dot sign in patients with good prognosis and poor prognosis were statistically different(P<0.05).Conclusion Dermatoscopic features of male patients with hormonal alopecia have significant value in evaluating the efficacy of patients, and are worthy of reference for clinical doctors and nurses.
