Abstract Objective Characteristic analysis of the relationship between sleep quality and cognitive function in the elderly after ischemic stroke. Methods 105 patients with chronic insomnia after ischemic stroke were included.Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)was used to evaluate the degree of insomnia(some patients with chronic insomnia received questionnaire survey),and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(MoCA)was used to evaluate the overall cognitive function of 105 patients. They were divided into two groups:non dementia group(psci-nd)with sleep cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke(n=45)and non cognitive impairment group(n=60).Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(MoCA)was used to assess cognitive function.Activities of daily living scale(ADL)was recorded and relevant clinical data were collected for comparative analysis. Results The education years of psci-nd group were significantly lower than those of non PSCI group(P<0.05).The age of psci-nd group was significantly higher than that of non PSCI group(P<0.05).The total scores of ADL and MOCA in psci-nd group were significantly lower than those in non PSCI Group [(86.80 10.52)vs(92.60 10.15),P=0.035;(17.05 4.25)vs(22.10 2.68),P=0.000].The proportion of sleep behavior disorder in psci-nd group was significantly higher than that in non PSCI group(P<0.05). Conclusion Psci-nd group is prone to sleep behavior disorder and cognitive impairment, which reveals the influence of sleep disorder on cognitive function of the elderly.
