High Concentrations of Glucose on the Proliferation of Retinal Müller Cells |

Abstract Objective To investage the pathological changes of Müller cells during the course of diabetic retinopathy by measuring the growth activity of retinal Muller cells in the medium containing different concentrations of glucose. Methods MTT assay was used to detect the OD value of Rabbit Müller cells in the medium containing different concentrations of glucose,which were cultured by the explant tissue culture method. Results High glucose could stimulate Müller cells growth in the first day.Along with culture time extension to 3 day, Müller cells in the high glucose could be seen more diacaustic,some cells' neurite retracted.The OD value was less and less along with culture time extension and glucose concentration increasing. Conclusion The proliferation of Müller cells was inhibited significantly in the high concentration of glucose.
