Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of different ventilation modes in mechanical ventilation of newborns with respiratory failure(ARF). Methods 150 cases of ARF neonates diagnosed and treated were selected for a retrospective study. The children were divided into study group(78 cases)and control group(72 cases)according to different ventilation modes. The former was given SIMV mode, the latter was given CPAP mode. The ventilator ventilation time, hospitalization time, and changes of blood gas indexes before and after treatment were compared between the two groups of children, and the curative effect was evaluated. Results There was no significant difference in the blood gas index levels between the two groups of children before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PO2)in the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the other blood gas index levels were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).The ventilation time and hospitalization time of children in the study group were significantly less than those in the control group(P<0.05),the effective rate of children in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The application of SIMV in neonates with ARF can improve the blood gas indexes of the infants and promote the recovery of lung compliance, thereby shorten the ventilator treatment time and has a better therapeutic effect.
